My husband always grew up knowing he wanted to live and work on a farm, not so much for me. I switched from dream to dream, urban to rural to suburban, but I finally landed here on the farm. Despite my husbands pleading I was only convinced that a farm was where we needed to be after I began researching food allergies and modern farming practices including the use of GMOs. After much discussion and research we decided that the best option for our family was to produce our own clean food and try to build a business that offered the same products our family needed to other families around our region. So we set out on an adventure with some cows and some goats and we couldn't begin to imagine where we would land almost a year later.
ABOUT
JORDAN JOHNSON
Farm Manager
I am a man of few words when speaking
about myself but Paul Harvey said everything I could possibly say only better in his 1978 'So God Made a Farmer' speech seen below in the 2013 Ram commercial.. Here's an excerpt 'And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker." So God made a farmer. God said, "I need somebody willing to sit up all night with a newborn colt. And watch it die. Then dry his eyes and say, 'Maybe next year.' So God made a farmer. It had to be somebody who'd plow deep and straight and not cut corners. Somebody to seed, weed, feed, breed and rake and disc and plow and plant and tie the fleece and strain the milk and replenish the self-feeder and finish a hard week's work with a five-mile drive to church. So God made a farmer.'
